Ensworth is a kindergarten through twelfth grade, coeducational independent school. 

Ensworth is located on two distinctly and purposefully designed campuses in Nashville, Tennessee. Each campus was carefully crafted to meet the developmental needs of its students and its values, spirit, and commitment to excellence unify the community as one Ensworth. Ensworth believes that the pursuit of knowledge and discovery is a lifelong journey. Through its Guiding Principles of Moral Integrity, Intellectual Vitality, Discipline, Compassion, Humor, and Joy, Ensworth equips its students with the skills required to think critically, embrace challenges, communicate and collaborate effectively, act ethically, and serve selflessly.

Studio Art classes with Ms. Blitz. She provides great instruction for improving your artwork; also, her projects are fun and interesting.

Subject is generally well-taught throughout the department, with teachers who are accessible.

Physics with Mr. Ireland. He is a fair-grader and a kind teacher; lab experiments were interesting a low-stakes.

Strengths
Very accessible teachers; thorough coursework that prepared me for college-level math courses.
Areas of improvements
Math courses are generally pretty challenging, with tests and quizzes that often assessed on how well a student can apply their knowledge.

I took honors pre-calculus with Mrs. Glenn, who was certainly a challenging teacher; though, she always encouraged students and was excellent at explaining tricky concepts.

Strengths
Offered great overview of historical topics, generally. Took comprehensive American history and world history courses prior to taking electives.

Lectures were often uninteresting, despite being informative.

Took AP Art History with Mrs. Riggar. She is such a caring and considerate teacher, who developed in her students great interest in art history; assessments were fair and straight-forward.

I didn't read any particular books for any of my history classes—we were taught via lecture and textbook, mainly.

Strengths
English classes greatly strengthened my essay-writing skills and thoroughly prepared me for college essay-writing. The teachers I had always provided strong feedback and were accessible after class/during tutorial hours.
Areas of improvements
A more diverse range of English electives/course reading lists.

Favorite course
My AP English class was taught by a wonderful, now-retired teacher. I believe it is in this class that my essay-writing skills improved the most, as the teacher made our lectures interesting and offered excellent feedback. Reading assignments were not overly lengthly; tests were not unfair.

Studied 1984 by George Orwell. We discussed relevant themes suggested by the dystopian novel and applied them to our current world; allowed for critical and creative thinking.

The courses I currently take at my university are only very slightly more challenging than those I took at Ensworth, if only because college courses test you differently. Definitely, my course load at Ensworth has prepared me to succeed in college.

AP English and AP Calculus BC prepared me for college english course/courses that require essay-writing and my math courses.

They're always working on improving the campus—everything always appears nice and well-kept; there are new innovations and changes to look forward to every year.

Ensworth greatly prepares you for college, gives you many opportunities to succeed and shine in the college application process, and allows you to build a great professional network early.

What is the most important thing a prospective student should know?
While courses at the high school might generally be challenging, I think they more than sufficiently prepared me for my college courses. The school provided ample resources to succeed academically and in my college application process, which I now very much value.
Who was your favorite teacher? Why?
Favorite teacher was Mrs. Hubert in the History department. She is great at explaining concepts and is extremely caring toward her students.
What courses would you recommend?
The Chinese language courses.
