Strengths

I really enjoyed my theatre arts course, I took it freshman year. The teacher was the only downside to the class. She was incredibly rude and persistently disrespectful to every student. Apparently she was a Lipscomb University professor with a child at the Academy. I don’t remember her name, but she had several complaints when I went to Lipscomb. The course was incredibly interesting and very fun!

Areas of improvements

I loved the arts department, very exciting and there were several opportunities to be creative and learn from smart people and good artists.

I actually enjoyed the standard art class with Ms. Rickleton, she was nice and the class was pretty cool, she never graded on perfection, just effort.

Monet, even though that is a basic answer. I still have Monet decorations in my apartment. His work is beautiful.

Strengths

I absolutely loved the science department at Lipscomb. Every teacher made the course enjoyable and it showed me that I wanted a career in sciences.

Areas of improvements

The courses could have been a little easier, I remember having loads of homework just for my science classes, more homework than I have now as a college science major.

Math Department

Strengths

Coach House was incredible, not a lot of people agree with me. She was very kind, and even though I didn’t do the best in math she was a good teacher.

Areas of improvements

I liked all of my Math teachers, they were all kind and knew that math is hard for some kids especially me. They were all accommodating and offered help outside of class.

Strengths

We learned a lot of information in my APUSH course, we were set up well for the AP test.

The class was horribly boring, and the teacher was rude.

I only took one course in history, the APUSH class taught by Dr. Williams.

Strengths

The teachers were wonderful, my senior year we were encouraged to read books of our choosing for credit, so I got excited about reading.

I think that grammar could have been taught a little more, I still know people from High School that don’t know the difference between there their and they’re.

Ms. Berry’s senior english class, she doesn’t work there anymore :( She was very calm and attentive to each student, she also made the course enjoyable and asked us what we wanted to do.

I enjoyed reading the Maze Runner books for my junior year english class.They weren’t part of the curriculum, but we were assigned to read books of choice over summer break that year.

I was very well prepared for all of my University courses because of the teachers from Lipscomb Academy!

There’s too many to list. Horrible, horrible people. I was never a troublesome student in any way. I received detention once my entire high school “career” but the people running Lipscomb were just awful. If you are not from the standard 2 parent household that attends a Church of Christ church, they we’re judgmental and would punish you for it extensively. 0/10 The administration is the ONLY reason I will not be sending my children to Lipscomb Academy.

Strengths

The teachers who went above and beyond to make sure each student was at least getting a C in their classes.

Areas of improvements

The administration was just awful, rude, horrible people. Exceptionally close-minded, and lacking any and all empathy for students going through a rough time or having issues at home. I was incredibly ill and hospitalized for a month and they threatened my Mother with sending her truancy law information, demanding me back at school etc.

Great teachers! I learned a lot of useful things for my science based major, everything my first few years of college was more of a review in those courses!

Who was your favorite teacher? Why?

My senior and junior year I had a teacher (i forgot her name) for Physics and Anatomy/Biology. She had straight brown hair and she was very nice and funny! She made all of her classes fun and we got to do experiments and dissections.

What courses would you recommend?

Can’t go wrong with a science class at Lipscomb, loved them all.
