Strengths
Several opportunities for students of all artistic backgrounds. Teachers who are experts in their field allow for a good environment allowing students to drastically improve.
Areas of improvements
Teacher retention isn’t the best as there tends to be multiple new teachers each year. Mandated outside work is required for many art classes.

Concert Band. While it was taken seriously, the songs we played were very fun to learn. The class almost felt like a small community as we were always working together to prepare for performances.

Pictures at an Exhibition was my favorite piece to learn. It was complex but very beautiful music and a very fun work to learn.

My favorite class was my choir class, which I was in for all 4 years of high school. Not only did I meet some of my best friends there, I made great connections with the teachers as well

Strengths
Great scholars program. There are several AP’s to choose from, and the lab system is generally very well regardless of the class you take.

Some teachers could be better especially in the way they convey their lessons. Wide difficulty gaps between honors and AP.

Strengths
Great opportunities for students who excel in math. Many extracurriculars as well as high level math classes for stronger math students (AP Calculus, etc.).
Areas of improvements
Some teachers could definitely be better. Geometry honors for freshman is one of the most difficult transitions you can have going into high school as it does require a tutor, but overall sets you up for more success later on.

Intro to Analysis Honors. It set me up for math in senior year and beyond. I learned many important pre calculus lessons and the way it was taught made it very easy to grasp.

Strengths
Some very strong teachers, as well as many electives for juniors and seniors. Allows for many different paths depending on interest.
Areas of improvements
Some classes, specifically AP, could be a bit better when it comes to preparation for end of year exams. Much of the responsibility falls on the student.

AP US Government and Politics. It is something that has always intrigued me. I enjoyed the discussions we had in class and it was very well paced so students didn’t feel like they were ever behind.

Political polling because a big part of that was creating a poll of your choice and doing research as well as collecting data. This was all part of a presentation later in the year.

Strengths
Many of the teachers teach in a very relatable way, allowing for students to enjoy the texts covered in class and developing necessary English skills. Regarding AP English, teachers go above and beyond making sure each and every student has been prepared for AP exams in May.
Areas of improvements
While there are many elective options for seniors in English, there should be more options for underclassmen, giving strong English students an opportunity to take classes that cater to their interests.

Literature of New York/Modern Drama. The teaching style, my classmates, and the texts we read all factored into why I enjoyed it so much. Overall, it was a great experience and I developed several skills in that class.

Hamlet. It was one of my favorite texts to read in all of high school because of the complexities, as well as the way it was taught to me by my English teacher.

An office where students could go whenever to receive answers for college related questions. Students were walked through the college process so they never fell behind.

Some teachers weren’t helpful in choosing schools to apply to, telling students their safety schools were reach schools.

Writing papers is an essential part of college and Saint Anthony’s taught me how to write papers starting freshman year. Many teachers senior year tried to incorporate college in class as a way to prepare students for next year.

AP Language Composition trained my writing skills tremendously, as well as Intro to Engineering giving me the foundations of my future education.

Always very helpful and created a community like environment. Disciplined students for breaking the rules but as long as you followed rules, you were treated with much respect.

The community within the schools. The great amount of opportunities for all students of all interests. The school felt like a second home.
Areas of improvements
They have several inexperienced/young teachers especially for underclassmen. More experienced teachers would benefit academic progression.

What is the most important thing a prospective student should know?
Saint Anthony’s has Catholic values that they live by and it is incorporated into the curriculum. The sense of community at the school is another major aspect as it is more than a school for many of its students.
Who was your favorite teacher? Why?
Ms. Seewagen. I had her twice for English and both time were great. She made the class fun, yet I learned so much. She related with students and wasn’t afraid to teach in her own ways.
What courses would you recommend?
AP US History, AP US Government and Politics, Kolbe Leadership Class. These three classes have some of the best teachers and most intriguing topics to learn. These classes relied heavily on discussions, so students could learn from other students.

The most important thing for a prospective student to know about Saint Anthony’s is to be prepared for the work load and to know how to manage their time properly. Once you get to this higher level of education, the student receives more responsibility.
