Although Collegiate's workload is intense, its culture fosters a sense of camaraderie that makes that workload bearable. The fact that each grade is so small---my year had 55 kids---means that you get to know everyone at least on the surface level.

I think that there is a certain level of competition at Pingry that might make students feel pressure to overexert themselves. I don't thin Pingry is a pressure cooker but sometimes it can feel like there is competition between students to do and be the best.
